Editorial Policy

How we create, review and update our health content — and our commitment to reliable, understandable and responsible medical information.

  • Last updated: August 24, 2026
  • KVKK & GDPR aligned
  • Plain language

At Acıbadem we believe that access to accurate health information helps people understand their health, ask the right questions and make more informed decisions about their care. Whether you are researching a condition, exploring treatment options or preparing for an appointment, our goal is content that is clear, evidence-based, medically reviewed and easy to understand.

Our content is intended to support — not replace — the relationship between patients and qualified healthcare professionals.

Our voice

Healthcare can be complex. Our aim is to make it easier to understand without oversimplifying the medicine behind it. We communicate directly and clearly, using language that patients and their families can understand while maintaining medical accuracy.

Wherever possible we explain medical terminology, procedures, technologies and treatment options in practical terms. Most importantly, we recognise that every patient is an individual: a diagnosis does not define a person, and treatment decisions should always account for medical history, clinical findings and personal circumstances.

Our commitment to readers

The words and information used in healthcare influence how people perceive their condition and the decisions they make. For that reason we commit to health information that is:

  • Medically accurate and evidence-based.
  • Clear and understandable without oversimplifying the medicine.
  • Respectful and inclusive in language and in framing.
  • Transparent about limitations and uncertainty.
  • Regularly reviewed and updated as knowledge evolves.
  • Designed to support informed conversations with healthcare professionals.

Our editorial process

Health content is developed using trusted medical sources, current scientific literature, recognised clinical guidelines and the expertise of healthcare professionals. Topics are selected from real patient questions and information needs. Depending on the subject, our process may include medical writers, editors, physicians, surgeons and other professionals with expertise in the relevant field, reviewing peer-reviewed publications, clinical guidelines, medical society recommendations and current diagnostic and treatment standards.

Where medical review is required, content is reviewed for clinical accuracy by an appropriately qualified professional by our medical review team before publication. Pages covered by this process display a visible “Medically reviewed” line together with the approval date. If the medical content changes materially after its last review, the reviewed label is withheld until the updated text has been approved again. No article reaches you on autopilot: a qualified human approves what is published.

Keeping content current

Medicine changes. New research, technologies and treatment approaches can change how conditions are understood or managed. Our medical pages display Published and Last updated dates together with an expandable update history recording key events such as review approvals and content updates. We periodically reassess articles, and when meaningful new evidence becomes available, content is updated, merged or retired accordingly.

Corrections and feedback

If you believe something we published is inaccurate, outdated or misleading, write to us with the page address and a short description. Reports from clinicians are especially welcome and go directly to medical review. If we agree the content is wrong we correct it and return the page to review; if we disagree we will tell you why — differences of clinical opinion within accepted practice are not treated as errors, and where reputable sources genuinely disagree, our content says so.

Content on this site is general health information and never a substitute for personal medical advice, diagnosis or treatment by a qualified professional who has examined you.
